Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and serving of meals for 10-60 children ages three through five, enrolled in the Head Start center.
  • Oversee the ordering and inventory of food and supplies, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and Head Start standards.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of our students, incorporating cultural foods and promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Ensure a safe and sanitary environment by performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, and supervising kitchen staff.
  • Monitor and audit reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and performance standards.
  • Provide nutrition education to staff, students, and parents, promoting healthy eating habits and cultural awareness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a school or childcare setting.
  • Valid State Driver's License and eligibility for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and maintain a substance-free lifestyle.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification and Food Handler's permit required within 30 days of employment.
