Psychiatrist - Mental Health and Counseling

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team at Yale University's Mental Health and Counseling department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide seamless, coordinated, and patient-centered care to a culturally diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment: Assess, define, and document patients' clinical problems, provide appropriate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans in a timely manner.
- Therapy and Psychopharmacology: Provide individual, group, and couples therapy, as well as psychopharmacology evaluations and prescribe medication as needed.
- Consultation and Teaching: Provide consultation and teaching to residents, and participate in training activities as needed.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and participate in weekday, after-hours on-call rotation, including weekends and holiday/recess periods.
- Liaison and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison to the University Community, work directly with residential colleges, and collaborate with deans, masters, and other Yale staff on student issues.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and legible patient charts and reports.
- Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited medical school and accredited residency program, with demonstrated clinical skills and experience in treating adolescent or college students.
- Skills and Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.
- Experience in College Mental Health: Demonstrated experience working in a college mental health service, with a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of this population.
