Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Nutrition Services Manager to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating quality Food and Nutrition Services activities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Manage and oversee the responsibilities of the Food and Nutrition Department, ensuring that services are provided in an accurate, timely, cost-effective, professional, and confidential manner.
    • Supervise the responsibilities of Production Workers and Utility Workers, providing motivation and inspiration to Food and Nutrition Staff.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
    • Implement evaluation systems to monitor services provided by the Food and Nutrition Department, including nutritional adequacy, consumer acceptance, new food products, equipment and supplies, management systems, sanitation systems, outside surveys, and educational methodology and tools.
    • Conduct personalized patient interviews, utilizing nutritional literature for diet teaching and writing.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Recruit, orient, train, counsel, and schedule personnel.
    • Prepare and monitor departmental goals, budget, and performance improvement activities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating willingness, ability, and team spirit to provide optimal customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is highly desired.
  • Possess knowledge in all operational aspects of Food and Nutrition Services.
  • Possess certification as a Certified Dietary Manager or complete such certification within the first year of employment.
  • Previous experience in food service, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in Food and Nutrition.
  • Good communication skills to effectively supervise and communicate with inter- and intra-departmental employees, patients and their family members, physicians, and public.
