Job Title: Sr. Aerospace Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
Belcan is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and providing oversight for various systems engineering tasks, including system requirements decomposition, analysis, definition, and traceability. You will also be involved in system design and implementation, performance, risk, safety, operation, test, and design reviews. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing engineering processes and policies, mentoring younger engineers, and helping to grow teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide oversight for various systems engineering tasks, including system requirements decomposition, analysis, definition, and traceability.
  • Develop and implement system design and implementation plans, including performance, risk, safety, operation, test, and design reviews.
  • Develop and maintain engineering processes and policies, including requirements management and Agile development methodologies.
  • Mentor and guide younger engineers, helping to grow teams and develop their skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges and opportunities.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related engineering degree from an accredited institution.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems development and integration, preferably with aerospace software/systems, power systems, or complicated technical systems.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and with requirements management tools such as DOORS and JAMA.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, be adaptable, and work across multi-discipline teams to drive results.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a requirement due to the nature of the work performed.
