Project Manager Role

The Project Manager plays a vital role in the success of assigned projects, overseeing profitability and overall project performance. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to drive projects to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project start-up, including detailed estimate review, purchasing, procurement, subcontracts, and project schedules.
  • Monitoring project control and construction through administrative direction of on-site superintendents and other field and office personnel.
  • Establishing project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Profit management of assigned projects.
  • Fostering effective relationships with project teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing and processing submittals.
  • Managing subcontractor proposal requests, scope reviews, and issuing subcontracts.
  • Establishing and monitoring schedule of field and subcontractor progress.
  • Issuing large purchase orders.
  • Reviewing, editing, and approving owner and general contractor contracts.
  • Assisting in safety program coordination and overseeing job site safety reviews.
  • Coordinating job correspondence.
  • Identifying opportunities for future projects and networking internally and externally.
  • Project closeouts.
  • Managing professional development and mentoring of project engineers.
  • Gathering, organizing, and documenting project historical data and lessons learned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science Management, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of mechanical field and leadership experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction industry.
  • Prior experience in project management or field leadership preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical construction industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Ability to maximize project team performance through innovative management techniques.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic level of financial acumen necessary to manage project budget and performance.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and project management software.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-management skills.
Work Environment
  • Job performed in a combination of settings, including on-site and in the office.
  • Routine driving to project sites required. May require travel or temporary assignments or relocation to manage projects outside the regional office area.
  • Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting, etc.
Benefits and Compensation
  • The range for this position has been established at $97,760 to $140,000 per year.
  • Total compensation includes a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance, paid time off, and an industry-leading benefits package.
