Job Title: Civil/Water Resource Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Water Resource Engineer to join our team at GEI Consultants. As a key member of our Water Resources practice, you will be responsible for executing projects and assignments in coordination with project managers and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute projects and assignments in coordination with project managers and support staff.
  • Prepare detailed written memoranda and reports on technical assignments and present technical information to peers and clients.
  • Prepare design documents including drawings, technical specifications, basis of design documents, bid documents and project schedules.
  • Perform construction oversight/field observation.
  • Travel to project sites and other offices as required, including overnight travel.
Requirements:
  • 3-8 years of professional experience demonstrating skills mentioned above.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Water Resources related field, M.S. considered a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work well in a team atmosphere and on individual assignments.
  • Ability to travel on temporary work assignments and possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with USEPA SWMM and HEC-RAS (both 1D and 2D versions) and HEC-HMS.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, with ability to analyze/convert surfaces, particularly to support H/H modeling program demands.
  • Knowledge of Virginia and Maryland DEPs, Federal, and Local regulatory and permitting requirements.
