Key Responsibilities:
The Environmental Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization meets environmental compliance standards. This position involves planning, designing, and executing projects focused on sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Primary Duties Include:
- Developing and overseeing the implementation of the company’s environmental strategies.
- Ensuring adherence to environmental policies and promoting sustainable practices.
- Managing the creation and execution of environmental systems, addressing compliance issues, and aligning projects with regulatory requirements.
- Conducting site evaluations to assess compliance with environmental regulations and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Providing expert advice on operational strategies and internal policies that minimize resource waste and encourage sustainable production.
- Creating and managing budgets for environmental initiatives and consulting activities.
- Leading investigations into non-compliance incidents and offering guidance and feedback regarding environmental impacts.
- Coordinating waste management efforts and monitoring waste streams for improvement opportunities.
- Collaborating with procurement teams to ensure sustainable sourcing of supplies.
- Facilitating environmental training programs for facility staff.
- Supporting corporate environmental initiatives through project assistance.
- Managing regulatory reporting and record-keeping requirements.
- Engaging in coaching and professional development activities.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Experience in implementing safety programs within a manufacturing context.
- Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role, with OSHA experience or a comparable combination of education and training.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Capability to sit for extended periods during work hours.
