Job Title: Staff Environmental Scientist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Environmental Scientist to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Environmental Services Practice, you will be responsible for supporting field surveys, compliance monitoring, and technical support services related to biological and wetland resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with field work such as breeding bird surveys, vegetation community assessments, wetland delineation and classification, special-status species surveys, and construction monitoring.
  • Prepare technical reports, including biological resources technical reports, jurisdictional delineation reports, and monitoring reports.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirements, wildlife and vegetation assessment methodologies, and best practices.
  • Meet a 95% direct project utilization goal.
  • Travel may be required within southern California.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of biological monitoring, survey, and reporting, or natural resource permitting experience in Southern California.
  • Proficient in technical writing.
  • Possess skills in communications and technical information exchange with clients, engineers, and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with a diverse set of project types, including energy, transportation, environmental infrastructure, oil and gas, water, and community development land uses.
