Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Technician to join our team at Hillsborough County. As a Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on county vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all vehicles and equipment are in compliance with safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-6 years of experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
  • ASE certification in one or more areas (A1-A9, T1-T8, etc.)
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with heavy equipment and large vehicles
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
