We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team at Lone Star Circle of Care. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive out-patient eye and vision care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with various eye and vision conditions.
- Provide ophthalmic care commensurate with training and expertise.
- Act as a consultant on ophthalmic cases referred by other staff providers.
- Participate in in-service training for staff on selected topics in eye/vision care.
- Complete medical charts after each visit in the electronic medical records system.
- Assure high-quality educational experience for optometry students, interns, and other individuals in a training role.
- Assist in internal quality control audits.
- Provide quality medical care according to standards established by Lone Star Circle of Care.
- Apply for and obtain privileges at community hospitals in the area as recommended/required by Lone Star Circle of Care.
- Be available to participate in providing continuity of care, including hospital in-patient management.
- Attend internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences, and participate on task forces or committees as necessary.
- Perform all duties and services in full compliance with Lone Star Circle of Care's Quality Standards.
- Actively monitor productivity and meet or exceed budgeted provider encounter targets.
- Must be in possession of a valid license to practice optometry in the State of Texas.
- Must have current DPS and DEA certificates.
- Must have no current or pending findings that restrict the provider's ability to participate fully in CMMS services.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of optometry and allied services commensurate with training.
- Must demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine.
- Ability to speak enough Spanish to examine Spanish-speaking patients and converse on a basic level is strongly preferred.
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.
