We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team at Lone Star Circle of Care. As a primary care provider, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive out-patient eye and vision care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages, providing high-quality medical care that meets the standards established by LSCC.
- Act as a consultant on ophthalmic cases referred by other staff providers, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Participate in internal quality control audits, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes.
- Provide educational experiences for optometry students, interns, and other individuals in a training role, ensuring that they receive high-quality training and mentorship.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless continuity of care, including hospital in-patient management.
- Attend internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in optometry and community medicine.
- Must be in possession of a valid license to practice optometry in the State of Texas, current DPS and DEA certificates.
- Must have no current or pending findings that restrict the provider's ability to participate fully in CMMS services.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of optometry and allied services commensurate with their training.
- Must demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine.
- Ability to speak enough Spanish to examine Spanish-speaking patients and converse on a basic level is strongly preferred.
