At Lone Star Circle of Care, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive out-patient eye and vision care to our patients.
Responsibilities:- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages, providing high-quality eye care services.
- Act as a consultant on ophthalmic cases referred by other staff providers, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Provide in-service training to staff on selected topics in eye/vision care, enhancing our team's knowledge and skills.
- Complete medical charts after each visit in our electronic medical records system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Assure a high-quality educational experience for optometry students, interns, and other individuals in a training role, fostering the next generation of eye care professionals.
- Assist in internal quality control audits, ensuring our services meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Provide quality medical care according to standards established by Lone Star Circle of Care, upholding our commitment to excellence.
- Apply for and obtain privileges at community hospitals in the area, as recommended or required by our organization.
- Be available to participate in providing continuity of care, including hospital in-patient management, when necessary.
- Attend internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences, and participate on task forces or committees, as necessary and/or required by our organization.
- Perform all duties and services in full compliance with Lone Star Circle of Care's Quality Standards.
- Actively monitor productivity and meet or exceed budgeted provider encounter targets, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Must be in possession of a valid license to practice optometry in the State of Texas, current DPS and DEA certificates.
- Must have no current or pending findings that restrict the provider's ability to participate fully in CMMS services.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of optometry and allied services commensurate with their training.
- Demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine.
- Ability to speak enough Spanish to examine Spanish-speaking patients and converse on a basic level, strongly preferred.
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.
