Controls Engineering Supervisor

Carrier is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineering Supervisor to lead our team of Controls Engineers in designing and implementing building automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC controls and building automation, with experience in managing and training direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and train a team of Controls Engineers to ensure high-quality designs and implementations
- Verify the work of direct reports and provide feedback for improvement
- Mentor new hires and current Engineering staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge
- Participate in regular manpower meetings with the Engineering Manager to distribute workload and discuss backlog and plan for future department needs
- Design complete building automation systems, including specification and sizing of controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware
- Creation of sequences of operation for the control of all building systems
- Documentation of the BAS design and revision control of resultant documents
- Site-specific configuration of the WebCTRL system using SiteBuilder
- Development of graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems using Eikon and ViewBuilder
- Testing of programming and interfaces prior to deployment
- Final documentation of the building automation system incorporating all changes made since issuance of the submittal
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of HVAC controls or Building Automation experience OR Associate Degree with 6+ years of HVAC controls or Building Automation experience OR High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of HVAC controls or Building Automation experience
- Advanced degree in an Engineering or Construction discipline
- Experience in HVAC controls, Building Automation, or related industry
- Proficient with primary functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools, Automated Logic suites preferred
- Strong working knowledge of complex Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services
- Proficient with third-party communication protocols used in building automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2, etc.
- Understanding of Enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Visio, or similar software
- Proficient with Microsoft Visio (other CAD software acceptable)
- Proficient with written sequences of operations, diagrammatic depictions of systems
- Able to provide direction and guidance to other team members and lead project teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to condense complex technical information into a comprehensive and clear set of design documents
- Strong aptitude for problem solving even when troubleshooting remotely
- Willingness and ability to travel 20% of average workweek, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel when required
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs
