Job Summary

CMT Technical Services, a leading materials engineering company, is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and direct all phases of a testing and inspection project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, materials testing, and inspection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Budgeting
    • Establish project budgets and forecasts based on current workload and backlog
    • Prepare and submit estimates on new structural and civil projects
  • Team Management
    • Allocate appropriate personnel and qualifications for each project
    • Conduct annual performance reviews with direct reports
    • Conduct monthly safety meetings with field technicians and special inspectors
  • Technical Expertise
    • Provide technical advice and training oversight for field technicians and special inspectors
    • Conduct safety and technical observations of field technicians and special inspectors
    • Enforce Standard Operating Procedures
  • Client Relations
    • Resolve technical and operational issues with clients
    • Assist in the hiring and termination of field technicians and special inspectors
  • Business Development
    • Support business development efforts with all client events
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience
    • 5 years of experience as a Project Manager with a supervisory role
  • Certifications
    • ACI, ATTI, ICC certifications desired but not required
  • Performance Metrics
    • # of bids prepared and won
    • # of new client set ups
    • Client satisfaction - # of complaints and concerns
    • Quality of field technicians and special inspectors through performance evaluations
    • Management of budgets - over and under, profit generated, change orders prepared
    • Minimum 70% billable
