Job Summary

This Medical Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Pittsburgh Physicians Department of Urology team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians with various aspects of patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
  • Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment, and maintain infection control.
  • Collect patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings as directed by providers.
  • Answer calls, provide patient education, and relay instructions to patients and families.
  • Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs, as well as assist with procedures and document patient information.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology essential.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
