Job Title: Systems Engineer

Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to support the development of a new Radar system. The successful candidate will work closely with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers to guide the continued development of the Radar System from design updates through integration and test events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply proper system engineering discipline and rigor required for disciplined system development.
  • Utilize significant experience with Radar systems or similar signal processing systems.
  • Utilize experience and knowledge of algorithms used for navigation, periscope detection, discrimination or other parts of traditional Radar signal processing.
  • Utilize laboratory knowledge including setup and use of Linux-based system integration, test, and execution.
  • Utilize experience planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events for combined hardware and software systems.
  • Specification, update and review of system and subsystem level requirements.
  • Utilize experience working with a team to jointly develop a system during all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Willingness to travel (25%).
Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of Navy platforms or common Navy platforms interfaces.
  • Knowledge or understanding of X-band system trade-offs.
  • Experience working with MIL STDs for all types of test requirements (MIL-STD-454, MIL-STD-901, etc.).
  • Matlab, Python or other Modeling / Scripting Languages.
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years with MS or 8+ with BS Degree in Systems/EE Engineering discipline.
  • US citizen and ability to obtain appropriate personnel clearance.
