Job Summary

Carter's is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive store environment, and executing operational activities to drive sales and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Focus:
    • Proactively assist customers with locating merchandise and provide information on promotions and product benefits.
    • Resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Ensure a positive shopping experience by expediting point of sale transactions and completing floor replenishment and shipment as needed.
  • Brand Execution:
    • Ensure store visual standards are maintained and executed according to company direction.
    • Replenish and recover the sales floor to company standard.
    • Complete merchandise floor sets according to visual standards and directives.
    • Maintain solid product knowledge and merchandise presentation.
    • Articulate current promotional events and the brand loyalty program with customers.
  • Drive Growth:
    • Minimize store loss by providing exceptional customer service.
    • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a positive experience for customers and team.
    • Meet or exceed company productivity standards for all operational processes.
    • Achieve daily goals as established by management.
  • Team Development:
    • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with all members of the team.
    • Adapt to performing assignments as requested.
    • Support management direction of the store.
    • Support, train, and coach others to success.
    • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures as directed by the company.
    Requirements
    • Demonstrated customer engagement skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
    • Retail/specialty apparel knowledge and experience preferred.
    Physical Demands
    • Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time; climb up and down a ladder.
    • Constant walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
    Availability Requirements
    • Availability to meet the needs of the business that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
    • Any availability changes must be approved by the Store Manager and will be approved based on business needs.
    • Scheduled working shifts from 3-8 hours in length (applicable state laws apply).
    • Minimum number of hours is not guaranteed.
