Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Save the Children. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing individualized and group educational plans for infants and toddlers, promoting social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth in a manner appropriate to their stage of development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Educational Plans: Collaborate with a Co-Teacher to develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans and educational activities that promote all developmental areas to improve the readiness of children for preschool.
- Facilitate Learning Activities: Guide and facilitate activities of the children, including daily classroom activities and field trips, to promote learning and development.
- Ensure a Safe and Developmentally Appropriate Learning Environment: Select and set up equipment and materials in the classroom, ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children.
- Practice Responsive Caregiving: Practice responsive caregiving to promote relational learning and include individualized and small group activities that integrate appropriate routines into a flexible schedule of learning experiences.
- Communicate with Parents: Plan and conduct conferences (minimum 2) and home visits (minimum of 2) or more often as needed to ensure parents/caregivers are well-informed on their child's progress, routines, activities, and behavior.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records, both on paper and in designated online systems, to track children's progress and development.
- Protect Children's Safety: Protect the safety of children by implementing active supervision techniques to ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised at any time.
- Education and Experience: Minimum of an associate degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related degree with early childhood equivalent coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
- Language Skills: Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels, whether internal or external, in the provision of high-quality services to children and families.
- Problem-Solving and Time Management Skills: Demonstrated successful interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with great problem-solving and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start Program: Demonstrated knowledge of the purpose of the Head Start/Early Head Start program.
- Ability to Relate Sensitively with Children: Proven ability to relate sensitively with children.
- Confidentiality: Proven ability to keep all required information strictly confidential.
