Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Head Start Teacher to join our team at Save the Children. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational programs for infants and toddlers, promoting their social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our children.
  • Collaborate with a Co-Teacher to create a safe and engaging learning environment that fosters relational learning and promotes child development.
  • Conduct regular conferences and home visits to keep parents informed about their child's progress and involve them in the educational process.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including observations, assessments, and screenings.
  • Work closely with Program Aides and Volunteers to develop their skills and abilities in planning and carrying out classroom activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to Save the Children's child safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Head Start/Early Head Start program and its goals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly in languages spoken by our target population.
  • Experience working with children from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
