Position Overview

Peraton is looking for a Cybersecurity and Privacy Specialist to support its Product Data Systems Support program within the Cyber Mission Sector. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and security of sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and directives outlined in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Oversee and ensure compliance of existing information systems through thorough technical assessments and audits.
  • Collaborate with program management and clients to implement security requirements, manage necessary documentation, and oversee classification management.
  • Provide guidance and training on information systems security, participating in security inspections and evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and evaluation strategies.
  • Work closely with internal security and IT teams to maintain compliance and secure operations of accredited information systems.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends, advising on implementation strategies.
  • Manage multiple Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages using eMASS for system approval.
  • Prepare and submit Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for system deficiencies.
  • Coordinate with systems administrators and developers for issue resolution and clarification.
  • Review change requests to assess security impacts on systems.
  • Evaluate System Access Requests for systems managed by the organization.
  • Revalidate organizational email accounts and manage security group requests.
  • Address cybersecurity-related inquiries from team members.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force (AF) instructions and regulations.
  • This position offers flexibility for telework with some onsite requirements.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and results-oriented performance.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain Security+ certification within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD level Secret security clearance.
Preferred:
  • Experience with DoD networks.
  • Current Security+ certification.
  • Professional certifications such as CISM, CIPA, or CISSP.
  • An active DoD level Secret security clearance.
