Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Procurement
    • Oversee and manage all purchasing activities for Murray's NYC businesses, including direct importing from Europe and domestic partners.
    • Work closely with our merchandising team to develop and execute purchasing strategies that meet our business objectives.
    • Negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible prices and services.
  • Inventory Management
    • Oversee the monthly inventory process for all NYC locations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
    • Monitor inventory levels and open purchase orders to ensure adequate stock to meet current demand.
    • Partner with our food safety department to ensure vendor compliance with all food safety requirements.
  • Supply Chain Optimization
    • Analyze and optimize our supply chain operations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
    • Develop new routes and methods to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and manage a team of purchasing and inventory control specialists.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team meets its objectives and goals.
Requirements
  • 2 or more years of experience in a cheese and/or specialty foods purchasing position.
  • 1 or more year of experience in a managerial role, with direct reports.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret inventory and reporting data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, operations, or a related field.
