Position Summary:
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate review, processing, and analysis of the company's operational expenses. The insights gained will play a significant role in our monthly closing and financial reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Duties:
- Serve as the primary contact for vendors concerning invoicing and payments.
- Review and process vendor invoices for timely payment.
- Act as a bridge between store operations and the Shared Services Center.
- Complete necessary SOX controls.
- Conduct monthly invoice reviews and aging exception analyses.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Assist in quarterly and annual audits by conducting research and providing necessary documentation.
Month-End Closing Activities:
- Execute balance sheet reconciliations and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Analyze expense variances and provide detailed reports.
- Compile month-end work papers that reflect specific financial metrics for reporting.
- Analyze month-end bank activities.
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong commitment to financial integrity and accounting accuracy.
- Proven track record of success in collaborative environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
