About the Opportunity

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeping Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our hospital facilities, adhering to federal, state, and local health codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean and service units, walls, rooms, baths, lavatories, and offices of Vail Health facilities, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
  2. Facilities Maintenance: Perform specific functions including vacuuming, cleaning and mopping floors, dusting furniture and equipment, replenishing soap and paper product supplies, polishing and cleaning doors, windows, vents, gaps, and lights.
  3. Reporting and Maintenance: Take note of needed repairs and report them to the Lead Housekeeper, ensuring prompt attention to maintenance needs.
  4. Equipment and Supply Management: Responsible for the use, care, organization, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment and supplies.
  5. Support Services: Assist with linen deliveries to assigned areas and assist with laundry when needed.
  6. Documentation and Communication: Complete daily checklists and turn them in to the Housekeeping office, maintaining open communication with the team.
  7. Teamwork and Collaboration: Work as a team within the department and with other hospital staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  8. Professional Development: Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and continuing education opportunities.
  9. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining a high level of professionalism and adaptability.
Requirements
  • Experience: One year of housekeeping experience preferred, with previous experience with floor cleaning equipment and in a healthcare setting a plus.
  • License and Certification: N/A
  • Computer and Typing Skills: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
  • Language and Education: Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
