Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Education Support Professional to join our team at KIPP Texas Public Schools. As a Special Education Support Professional, you will play a critical role in ensuring our students with special needs receive the support and accommodations they require to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with special education and general education teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide one-on-one support and instruction to students with special needs, including assistance with academic tasks, life skills, and behavioral support.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including preparing materials, supervising students, and communicating with parents and teachers.
  • Help to create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth for all students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education and instructional support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., special education, education, psychology).
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a public school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical and emotional stamina to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other disabilities.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Experience with behavioral support strategies and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to speak Spanish or other languages spoken by our student population.
