Special Education Coordinator

BASIS Ed is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Coordinator to join our team. As a Special Education Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that students with disabilities receive the support and services they need to succeed.
Job SummaryThe Special Education Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the entire special education program at a school site. This includes coordinating and ensuring full state and federal compliance with all aspects of programming (identification, review, dismissal) for students with disabilities per the IDEA, Section 504, and the ADA. The Coordinator will also provide direct special education services, as needed, and supervise itinerant service providers.

- Providing direct special education services, as needed, and supervising itinerant service providers;
- Preparing and reporting accurate and timely data for internal and external regulatory purposes;
- Facilitating in the development and implementation of informal academic and behavioral intervention programs for individual students;
- Coordinating and ensuring full state and federal compliance with all aspects of programming (identification, review, dismissal) for students with disabilities per the IDEA and Section 504;
- Preparing and reporting accurate and timely data for internal and external regulatory purposes;
- Supporting general education teachers and collaborating with administrators to ensure the availability of a FAPE to eligible students.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in special education or a related subject matter;
- A valid Fingerprint Clearance and current special education EC-12th certificate or the special education EC-6th certificate;
- At least 1 year of experience in a role with related special education job duties;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators;
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the IDEA and Section 504.
A Master's degree in special education or a related subject matter, CPI or TACT-2 certification, and 2+ years of experience in a similar-sized school are preferred.
