Responsibilities- Support the creation of inclusive environments and instructional opportunities that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide individualized behavior and academic supports to improve children's achievement of individual academic and behavioral goals.
- Implement behavioral and academic strategies outlined in children's IEPs.
- Use data to understand children's instructional needs and progress against IEP goals.
- Maintain records and documentation.
- Communicate progress and challenges to the teaching team, service providers, and families.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
- Foster tolerance and a sense of community in the classroom.
- Assist with daily activities, such as personal hygiene and meals.
- Communicate with families about children's goals and progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in youth development, child care, or a school setting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Solution-focused and goal-oriented.
- Ability to maintain a patient and supportive relationship with assigned students.
- High school diploma or General Education Development Certificate (GED) required.
