The successful candidate will be a licensed respiratory therapist committed to delivering exceptional patient care through a deep understanding of respiratory health. This role involves following physician orders in accordance with established protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, considering their physical, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs, while documenting findings accurately.
  • Administer a variety of respiratory therapy treatments and services, including but not limited to: oxygen therapy, ventilator management (both invasive and non-invasive), bronchial hygiene, lung expansion techniques, spirometry testing, EKG monitoring, and blood gas analysis.
  • Utilize effective communication and problem-solving skills to engage with patients and address their needs during care.
  • Participate in emergency response situations, ensuring airway management and providing necessary ventilation support.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by monitoring departmental processes and suggesting improvements, while reviewing electronic medical records and physician orders throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from an accredited respiratory care program.
  • Certification as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required within one year of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be achieved within one year of employment.
  • Registry eligibility is essential; prior experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field is advantageous.
  • Preferred certification includes Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC.
