Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Wireless RF OTA Cellular Validation Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique opportunity to shape upcoming products that will delight and inspire millions of Apple's customers every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validating OTA Cellular test cases for different carrier/industry conformance requirements in certification test setups.
  • Translating industry conformance/regulatory/carrier specification requirements into test cases.
  • Coordinating with regulatory compliance/carrier management teams to ensure product validation covers all certification/performance tests.
  • Defining/executing validation plans for custom SW features.
  • Debugging marginal/failure tests with cross-functional teams like RFHW/Antenna/Product Design/EE/etc. and driving design changes to address issues.
  • Maintaining test setups via periodic checks, calibration, etc.
  • Driving planning/executing on final radiated certification testing at 3rd party test labs for PTCRB/CTIA testing.
Requirements
  • Working experience with antenna design/tests, antenna and wave propagation, anechoic chambers, and radiation performance evaluation like TRP & TIS.
  • Working experience with different lab equipment: network analyzers, signal generators, signal analyzers, call boxes (i.e., CMW/ UXM/ 8960), channel emulators, etc.
  • Experience with different wireless communication systems such as GSM/GPRS/EDGE/LTE, 5G mmWave, etc. including the corresponding system level specifications (e.g., ETSI 51.010, is a plus.
  • Experience with carrier/industry conformance radiated performance requirements like 3GPP, PTCRB, CTIA, ETSI, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills required, both written & verbal.
  • Programming skills in C, C++ would be a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS degree in technical discipline with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
