Job Title: Wireless RF OTA MIMO Validation Engineer

At Apple, we're looking for a skilled engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge wireless products. As a Wireless RF OTA MIMO Validation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and quality of our wireless systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Validate OTA test cases for different carrier/industry conformance requirements in certification test setups.
  • Translate industry conformance/regulatory/carrier specification requirements into test cases and coordinate with regulatory compliance/carrier management teams to ensure product validation covers all certification/performance tests.
  • Define/execute validation plan for custom SW features.
  • Debugging marginal/failure tests with cross-functional teams like RFHW/Antenna/Product Design/EE/etc. and drive design changes to address issues.
  • Maintain test setups via periodic checks, calibration, etc.
  • Drive planning/executing on final certification testing at 3rd party test labs for PTCRB/CTIA/CWG testing.
Requirements:
  • Working experience with MIMO/UWB characteristics (at a system level), antenna design and requirements for modern wireless communication systems such as UWB, LTE, WiFi, 802.11ad and mmWave systems.
  • Working experience with wireless protocols, antennas, and radio propagation.
  • Experience with different wireless communication systems such as GSM/GPRS/EDGE/LTE, 5G mmWave, etc. including the corresponding system level specifications (e.g., ETSI 51.010).
  • Working experience with different lab equipment: network analyzers, signal generators, signal analyzers, call boxes (i.e., CMW), channel emulators.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and certification process for CTIA and 3GPP.
  • Excellent communication skills required, both written & verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS degree in technical discipline with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
