Position Overview:

Part-Time Opportunity - Day Shift

Role Summary:

Under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist, the radiation therapist is responsible for utilizing ionizing radiation equipment to deliver therapeutic radiation doses as directed by the physician for patients undergoing a designated course of radiotherapy. Key responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments, providing education, maintaining treatment apparatus and documentation, overseeing the treatment environment, and fulfilling additional duties as required. This role demands a patient-focused approach, technical proficiency, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teamwork. The individual must be capable of responding to emergency situations and providing intubation when necessary.
  • Safely administers a planned course of radiotherapy, ensuring accurate delivery of treatment. Monitors and reports any adverse effects, reactions, therapeutic responses, and incompatibilities, and consults with the Radiation Oncologist before proceeding when conditions necessitate.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in operating Linear Accelerators (Linacs) and CT simulators while performing patient treatments.
  • Delivers patient education and maintains excellent customer relations.
  • Accurately documents procedures and captures charges associated with treatments.
Qualifications Required:
  • Education - completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Licensure - registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy and holds State Radiation Operator Certification.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply with the understanding that they must pass boards within three months of employment.
  • Experience - no prior experience required.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
