Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Implementation Manager to join our Duke Energy team. As a key member of our Energy Services team, you will be responsible for leading the project implementation of commercial, industrial, institutional, and governmental facility electrical infrastructure and energy management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the project implementation team to ensure engineered projects deliver reliability and quality service and are implemented on-time, under-budget, and in-scope.
  • Manage the project implementation of all commercial, industrial, institutional, and governmental facility electrical infrastructure and energy management projects.
  • Manage and develop a diverse staff of project management, construction management, project controls, and technical professionals.
  • Provide leadership, oversight management, delegation, and coordination to the various internal and external organizations that are providing services to the project.
  • Provide oversight and assessments to contingent workers and multiple construction management and A&E firms.
  • Plan and implement appropriate levels of resourcing of the business with Duke labor, contract labor, vendor alliances, and sourcing contracts for maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Initiate the development of plans to ensure objectives are achieved and improvement opportunities are addressed.
  • Ensure subject matter expertise in project management and construction management are brought into the decision-making process relative to safety, environmental, regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Establish and communicate expectations to management and professional staff.
  • Oversee the operations of the organization and manage its compliance with financial, legal, regulatory, and state requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or other technical field of study and seven (7) years related work experience.
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree and 7 years related work experience, High School/GED and 11 years related work experience.
  • Masters degree in Business Administration or other technical field of study and ten (10) years related work experience.
  • Professional Engineer and/or Project Management Professional and/or Certified Energy Manager and/or General Contractor and/or Electrical Contractor.
  • Expertise in project management with associated project-related work experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and financial evaluation skills for large non-traditional utility budgets.
  • Leadership experience including staff management, employee development, and motivation of large teams.
  • Big-picture, strategic thinking including ability to conceptualize new or abstract market approaches, determine how to test, and take necessary steps to deliver new strategy.
  • Position requires strong negotiation, analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills, a consultative approach to recommending process improvements, and staying up to date on key industry trends.
  • Demonstrated effective decision-making skills, including the ability to make decisions and execute with limited information.
  • Knowledge of construction, distribution, energy management operations, and the associated safety and risk mitigation requirements.
  • Experience in the Consultative Sales approach.
  • Experience in the Commercial Business Process to make quick decisions for Business and Customer issues.
Working Conditions

Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
