Position Overview

Freedom Graphic Systems, a prominent player in the direct mail marketing sector, stands as one of the largest independently owned and privately held companies in the United States. We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to enhance our financial operations.

The Financial Controller will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting processes while leading the Accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and evaluate monthly financial reports
  • Ensure reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts
  • Manage Cash Flow, including oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Prepare documentation for the annual audit in compliance with GAAP standards
  • Administer the company's 401(k) retirement plan
  • Handle various state reporting obligations, including Annual Wage reports for Worker's Compensation, personal property reporting, US Census reporting, and Form 5500
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Accounting team, focusing on mentoring and professional development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline, along with CPA certification
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance or accounting leadership role within a manufacturing context (experience in printing is highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated integrity and a strong commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to contribute strategic insights while also engaging in hands-on tasks
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective time management, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with UKG software is preferred
