As a Mental Health Technician at Adventist Health, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to meet patient care needs through the use of the nursing process, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Implement psychosocial interventions to help patients manage their emotional, cognitive, and physical behaviors.
- Assist patients with basic activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and oral hygiene.
- Participate in structured therapeutic activities and supportive interactions with patients.
- Conduct data collection and physical examinations for patients, and participate in the planning of care and implementation of interventions.
- Support patients and their families through empathetic interaction and education within the scope of practice.
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Two years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting: Preferred
- Implement psychosocial interventions, helps with basic activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, ambulating, transferring, elimination needs and therapeutic program participation.
- Conducts therapeutic interventions with patients exhibiting significant disturbances in emotional, cognitive and physical behaviors.
- Performs data collection and physical examinations for patients and participates with the RN in the planning of care and implementation of interventions.
- Supports patient and family through empathetic interaction/education within scope of practice.
