Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify security threats.
  • Collaborate with IT Program Managers to evaluate system environments for security requirements and controls.
  • Manage security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
  • Support the acquisition of new systems by defining security specifications.
  • Review system procurement requests to ensure security has been considered.
  • Implement system security controls to protect sensitive but unclassified information.
  • Complete self-assessments and assist in the A&A process.
  • Create and update the System Security Plan (SSP) for the program.
  • Assist in risk assessments and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Adhere to Continuous Monitoring practices to ensure security controls are maintained.
  • Assist the System Owner in developing contingency plans and backup procedures.
  • Audit and monitor application, system, and security logs for security threats.
  • Report suspicious activities to the agency Incident coordinator.
  • Monitor and coordinate patch management and scanning techniques.
  • Support the security awareness, training, and education program.
  • Assist the ISSM or CISO in other security-related duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Effective communication and quantification of detailed information.
  • Understanding of IT and cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Knowledge of technology integration with physical, virtual, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform contract analysis and schedule reviews.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures.

Education: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
