Position Overview:

Your Role:

The Pharmacy Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing pharmacy functions, ensuring the effective performance of pharmacists and support staff. This role is pivotal in advancing the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of Methodist Health System.

Qualifications:


• Graduate from an accredited pharmacy program.


• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Hospital Pharmacy is preferred.


• Must hold a valid pharmacist license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.


• Certification as a pharmacist preceptor by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required.


• Ideally, 3 to 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.


• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.


• Capable of providing vision and leadership.


• Skilled in planning and scheduling tasks for team members.

Key Responsibilities:


• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy-related state licenses, including Texas State Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations.


• Develop and manage the antimicrobial stewardship program while establishing a robust clinical pharmacy service framework.


• Lead and oversee the purchasing and inventory management processes for the facility.


• Assist in the planning, assessment, and execution of innovative pharmacy programs within the healthcare system, while formulating and enforcing departmental guidelines.


• Coordinate staffing and training schedules for pharmacists and support staff, ensuring timely processing of schedule changes and time-off requests.


• Conduct and communicate performance evaluations for pharmacists and support personnel.


• Supervise pharmacy staff, providing guidance on patient care issues and their responsibilities.


• Step in as a staff pharmacist when necessary.


• Assume responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the director.


• Manage drug inventory control, ensuring proper medication handling, storage, and security.


• Establish effective tracking and auditing processes for narcotics.


• Foster open and clear communication.


• Build collaborative relationships within the team.


• Take ownership of performance outcomes.


• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance patient experiences.


• Proactively pursue professional development.


• Engage actively in building a cohesive team.
