Nurse Specialist II

The Nurse Specialist II role at Children's National Hospital requires a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in pediatric hematology/oncology. Key Responsibilities:

2. Transformational Leadership: Contribute to the development of the Professional Model of Care, which emphasizes the importance of registered professional nurses taking ownership of their practice. Participate in council involvement, committees, and task forces to drive positive change and improve patient outcomes.
3. Professional Development: Maintain regulatory requirements, such as licensure and BLS certification, and participate in ongoing education and professional activities to enhance nursing practice. Role model professional behavior and teamwork with coworkers, while seeking opportunities to participate in enhancing departmental goals.
Requirements:
1. Education: ASN or BSN degree, with a focus on pediatric hematology/oncology.
2. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in pediatric hematology/oncology, with a strong foundation in nursing practice and a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
3. Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia, with BLS and APHON Chemobiotherapy Provider certifications.
4. Skills: Strong clinical skills, with a focus on hematology and oncology patients. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
