Organizational Context:

Grow Public Schools (GPS) is a charter management organization dedicated to fostering educational excellence in underserved communities. Established by the Grimm Family Education Foundation, GPS operates multiple campuses, including Grow Academy, which focuses on a holistic approach to student development through innovative educational practices.

Role Summary: The educator will cultivate an engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes high standards for student development and academic success. Responsibilities include designing, organizing, and executing lessons that align with educational standards while addressing the diverse needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and adapt the GPS curriculum using high-quality instructional resources.
  • Develop integrated lesson plans that foster comprehensive understanding in alignment with state standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater to a variety of learning styles and needs.
  • Engage in weekly coaching sessions to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes.
  • Create a classroom environment that embodies the school's core values and promotes a culture of higher education.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to support the implementation of Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs).
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records of academic performance.
  • Maintain open communication with students, families, and colleagues to foster a supportive educational community.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to guide their learning journey.
  • Utilize the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support framework to encourage positive student behavior.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reporting as required by educational regulations.
  • Deliver social-emotional learning curriculum to support student well-being.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid California Multiple or Single Subject Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorization.
  • Proven expertise in classroom management and instructional strategies.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and teaching tools.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements: The role involves regular communication, standing, sitting, and the ability to lift light objects as needed.

Work Environment: This position is conducted in-person within educational facilities, with occasional travel to other sites as necessary.
