Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to clinic patients and their families, utilizing the nursing processes of comprehensive patient assessment, development and implementation of nursing care plans and patient education, and ongoing evaluation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive nursing care plans that incorporate psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors.
  • Deliver holistic and individualized care to all patients in assigned area, fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications.
  • Adhere to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience.
  • Engage in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in oncology and nursing care.
  • Perform all duties of lower levels, meeting specific affiliate or collective bargaining agreement requirements outlined for this level.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California, BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider, Apheresis QIA Certification – Preferred.
  • Experience as charge nurse or supervisory role in a clinical healthcare setting, familiarity with agency and regulatory compliance standards in acute healthcare setting and in Apheresis required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolutions and delegation required, ability to work in a self-motivated, independent capacity essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff, effective written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated competency in fundamentals of nursing and oncology required.
Working Conditions

This position may regularly work, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drug(s) identified as hazardous, or potentially hazardous, by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.
