Patient Care Technician II PDP

As a Patient Care Technician II, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist registered nurses in providing patient care, including performing specific tasks as directed and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the delivery of patient care by performing specific tasks as directed by the registered nurse.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and transport of patients.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, weights, and blood glucose testing.
- Report abnormalities and condition changes to the primary nurse promptly.
- Communicate effectively and frequently with healthcare team members to share information and solve problems.
- Document legibly on all hospital forms using standardized abbreviations.
- Participate in walking rounds with the oncoming and off-going PCT at shift change.
- Provide personalized care to patients and families, identifying and documenting special needs on the patient rounding sheet.
- Utilize available educational materials, programs, nursing literature, and resource personnel for career development and attend mandatory in-services to maintain unit competencies.
- Assist with appropriate tasks in all code situations under the direction of the Code Blue Team.
- Adhere to organizational infection control practices and policies and to established safety and security policies.
- High school diploma or GED.
- AHA BLS provider certification course required within 90 days from date of hire.
- Minimum of three months experience as a PCT or currently in a junior semester of an Associates or Bachelor's nursing program.
This role requires manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. It also involves significant occupational risk and exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
