Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated School Psychologist Intern to join our team at the Olympia School District. As a School Psychologist Intern, you will play a vital role in providing support to students, teachers, and families in our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination of building-based Special Services Programs, including attending multidisciplinary team meetings and participating in referral, evaluation, and re-evaluation processes for special education.
  • Evaluate student's current level of intellectual functioning, potential social development, or academic performance in reading, math, written language, and knowledge under the supervision of certificated staff.
  • Act as a liaison among administrators, educators, parents, and community service providers to facilitate initial IEP meetings and provide behavioral support and interventions under the supervision of certificated staff.
  • Provide support for students and teachers in classrooms, including participating in IEP and program development, consulting with teachers regarding management of programs for students with disabilities, and assisting in the transition of students entering and exiting the school.
Requirements
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
  • Skills to communicate effectively, problem solve, and knowledge of curriculum, education code, district policies, and problem-solving methodology.
  • Abilities to sit for prolonged periods, maintain and verify completeness of records, meet schedules and deadlines, communicate with persons of varied cultural and educational backgrounds, and communicate in oral and written form.
