Across Northwest Florida, our services range from residential treatment to outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, treatments for substance misuse, and 24/7 support for those with serious mental illnesses.
Job SummaryA Behavior Health Technician assists the counselors/therapeutic/nursing staff by providing clinical support to adults and children who are receiving substance abuse, mental health services, or co-occurring disorders in residential programs, inpatient settings, day/evening programs, outpatient programs, and/or community-based programs.
Key Responsibilities- Establish a Positive Helping Relationship: Develop a positive and supportive relationship with individuals receiving services.
- Assist with Daily Living Activities: Assist individuals with completing activities of daily living, including accessing needed resources, and building functional, pro-social relationships with others.
- Ensure Health and Safety: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals receiving services.
- Implement Interventions: Implement specific interventions according to the individual's treatment or service plan.
- Monitor Progress: Monitor and document the individual's progress.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of experience working directly with seriously emotionally disturbed children or completed one year (24 hours) of college classes.
- Skills: Good oral and written communication skills.
- Background Checks: Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record, and be insurable under the corporate policy.
Base pay ranges from $16.12 an hour based on experience. Plus, shift differential pays $2.00 - $4.00 an hour if applicable.
