Lakeview Center provides comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and children with mental illnesses, drug and alcohol dependencies, and intellectual disabilities. Across Northwest Florida, our services range from residential treatment to outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, treatments for substance misuse, and 24/7 support for those with serious mental illnesses.

Job Summary

A Behavior Health Technician assists the counselors/therapeutic/nursing staff by providing clinical support to adults and children who are receiving substance abuse, mental health services, or co-occurring disorders in residential programs, inpatient settings, day/evening programs, outpatient programs, and/or community-based programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a Positive Helping Relationship: Develop a positive and supportive relationship with individuals receiving services.
  • Assist with Daily Living Activities: Assist individuals with completing activities of daily living, including accessing needed resources, and building functional, pro-social relationships with others.
  • Ensure Health and Safety: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals receiving services.
  • Implement Interventions: Implement specific interventions according to the individual's treatment or service plan.
  • Monitor Progress: Monitor and document the individual's progress.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: At least one (1) year of experience working directly with seriously emotionally disturbed children or completed one year (24 hours) of college classes.
  • Skills: Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Background Checks: Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record, and be insurable under the corporate policy.
Compensation

Base pay ranges from $16.12 an hour based on experience. Plus, shift differential pays $2.00 - $4.00 an hour if applicable.
