Director of Interscholastic Athletics

The Director of Interscholastic Athletics is a key member of the school administration team, responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and coordination of interscholastic athletic programs for middle and high schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background in athletic administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to promote sportsmanship and teamwork.
About the Role:
This role involves supervising coaches, developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with state and national regulations. The Director will work closely with school administrators, coaches, and staff to create a positive and inclusive athletic environment that fosters student development and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate coaches to ensure high-quality programs and athlete safety
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for interscholastic athletics, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
- Manage budgets and resources to support athletic programs, including facilities maintenance and equipment procurement
- Ensure compliance with state and national regulations, including Title IX and NCHSAA rules
- Communicate effectively with school administrators, coaches, parents, and athletes to build relationships and resolve conflicts
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, athletic administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in athletic administration, coaching, or related field
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Knowledge of state and national regulations, including Title IX and NCHSAA rules
