Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are in search of a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer specializing in supplier management. The successful candidate will possess over 3 years of relevant experience and will be instrumental in overseeing supplier quality assurance processes. This role emphasizes the management of non-conforming materials, the execution of Material Review Board (MRB) protocols, and the advancement of continuous improvement strategies. While experience in the medical device sector is highly valued, we are also open to applicants from other regulated industries.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Quality Oversight: Ensure suppliers adhere to established quality standards and specifications. Manage MRB processes and address non-conforming materials effectively.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Lead investigations into non-conformance incidents and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Assist in the creation and execution of supplier scorecards and conduct thorough audits to verify compliance with quality requirements.
  • Cost Efficiency Initiatives: Collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams to identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality integrity.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Advocate for and implement continuous improvement practices to enhance supplier quality and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with various departments, including procurement, engineering, and production, to achieve supplier quality goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in supplier quality engineering, ideally within the medical device field. Experience in other highly regulated sectors will also be considered.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of supplier quality processes, including MRB and non-conformance management.
    • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Experience conducting supplier audits and performance assessments.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective action.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and requirements relevant to the medical device sector.
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar credentials is advantageous.
