Quality Assurance Engineer

Overview

This role oversees extensive evaluation projects, primarily supporting BU Anchors TTM and Product Care initiatives, as well as ICC-ES assessments of mechanical and adhesive anchors.

Key Responsibilities

This position entails comprehensive testing accountability, which includes:
  • Developing test strategies and project timelines.
  • Conducting assessments in accordance with national and international testing protocols.
  • Interpreting test outcomes and ensuring proper documentation and communication of results.

These projects support various departments including Global and Hilti North America BU Anchors, Corporate Quality, Sales, Manufacturing, Approvals, and Technical Services.

Role Details

Responsibilities include:
  • Planning, organizing, and executing assigned testing projects related to both new and existing Hilti and competitor products.
  • Projects may involve ongoing product quality assessments, new product development testing, design quality evaluations, manufacturing quality assessments, product approval, and data development testing.
  • Providing design, fabrication, and implementation of necessary testing apparatus based on acquired knowledge.
  • Ensuring timely completion of test projects through direct testing or coordination with lab supervisors and TSD engineers.
  • Guaranteeing accurate and objective test data by overseeing the setup and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Utilizing technical analytical skills to evaluate test results and data, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Recommending improvements to optimize Hilti products based on test evaluations.
  • Maintaining orderly documentation to facilitate historical reviews of testing procedures.
  • Assisting in obtaining necessary government and industry certifications for Hilti products through statistical data analysis and report generation.
  • Monitoring operations to ensure compliance with the Hilti Quality System and striving for departmental objectives.
  • Providing training and guidance to team members to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and career growth.
  • Completing special projects as assigned by the testing services manager.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Familiarity with building design codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Experience in Research and Development is a plus.
