Position Overview:
The Senior Upholstery Specialist at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for the independent design, fabrication, and installation of upholstery and trim components within aircraft interiors. This role includes providing mentorship and guidance to fellow technicians while overseeing various projects.

Key Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have a minimum of four years of upholstery experience, including at least two years in aircraft upholstery or six years in commercial upholstery. Advanced knowledge of upholstery techniques, sewing processes, and custom carpet installation is essential.

Core Responsibilities:
1. Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various assemblies and subassemblies.
2. Interpret material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.
3. Sew and install covers for all styles of panels in aircraft interiors, adhering to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
4. Utilize the material tracking system to manage parts demand and track project progress.
5. Collaborate with design teams to cut and install custom carpets with unique patterns.

Additional Duties:
1. Assume Lead responsibilities as needed, coordinating tasks among technicians.
2. Conduct safety audits and assist team members in maintaining safety standards.
3. Support the upkeep of shop equipment and associated safety protocols.
4. Mentor and train less experienced technicians, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
5. Work with senior technicians to implement process improvements aimed at reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.

Other Requirements:
1. Familiarity with Gulfstream inspection and process specifications.
2. Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding the English language.
3. Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
4. Basic computer literacy is required.
5. Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work flexible shifts.
