Job Purpose

We're seeking a skilled Network Surveillance Specialist to join our Unified Technology Operations Center (UTOC) team. As the first point of contact for network health management, you'll work in a fast-paced environment, under limited supervision, and report to the UTOC Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize alarms and incidents to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments.
  • Deliver proactive technology monitoring and implement corrective action to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Provide diagnostics and technical updates on incidents to operations and engineering teams and senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and sponsor system changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with the UTOC team and adapt to shift patterns.
  • Proactively monitor technology solutions to prevent events from becoming incidents, and in the event of a major service outage, liaise with relevant departments to undertake emergency fault diagnostics.
  • Escalate issues to Senior Staff/Shift Lead/Manager.
  • Document incidents by creating tickets, including affected parties, prioritization, and a brief description.
  • Update internal customers and management on inquiry or issue status.
  • Research and resolve issues, recommend process improvements, and provide shift turnover status.
  • Coordinate and route incidents, calls, and tickets to UTOC's technical support staff.
  • Monitor alarm activity through the Network Management system.
  • Track incidents to verify response times and availability requirements meet SLA standards.
  • Create and update tickets with 100% accuracy, following established procedures.
  • Execute projects assigned by Management.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of network surveillance experience or degree in a related field.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to document issues with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to multitask in a demanding environment.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, and the OSI network model.
