Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our team at Northside Hospital Inc. as a Patient Access Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for performing scheduling functions in a high-volume, fully computerized environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between staff, hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians' offices
  • Perform scheduling functions, including exam preparations, exam sequencing, and other related tasks
  • Utilize computer applications to manage scheduling and patient information
  • Provide exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills to patients and staff
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Three (3) years of previous medical-related clerical experience or an associate's degree
  • Organizational and communication/customer service skills
  • Knowledge and skill in utilizing computer applications
  • Problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using a computerized scheduling system
  • Associate degree
  • Prior experience in insurance precertification
  • Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third-party payers
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of responsibility
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute
