We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our team at Northside Hospital Inc. as a Patient Access Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for performing scheduling functions in a high-volume, fully computerized environment.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a liaison between staff, hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians' offices
- Perform scheduling functions, including exam preparations, exam sequencing, and other related tasks
- Utilize computer applications to manage scheduling and patient information
- Provide exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills to patients and staff
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- Three (3) years of previous medical-related clerical experience or an associate's degree
- Organizational and communication/customer service skills
- Knowledge and skill in utilizing computer applications
- Problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using a computerized scheduling system
- Associate degree
- Prior experience in insurance precertification
- Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third-party payers
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of responsibility
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to type 40 words per minute
