Job Summary:

The Emergency Department Technician will work closely with our emergency medicine team to provide patient care, perform various clinical tasks, and maintain a safe and clean environment. This is a full-time position, working three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care and support to patients and families in the emergency department
  • Perform various clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and communication
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an approved healthcare training program preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Patient Care Tech, EMT, or Paramedic; or completion of a practical nursing (LPN) or registered nursing (RN) course with acute care clinical experience
  • Active CNA license in DC; National Patient Care Technician Certification (DC approved) or Certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) preferred
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification required
