Pharmacist-in-Charge Job Opportunity

ASPCares is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge to lead our pharmacy team in Houston, TX.

Job Duties:
  • Stay Current with Industry Developments: Stay up-to-date on the latest technology and innovations in pharmacy practice to ensure our pharmacy remains at the forefront of care.
  • Foster Collaborative Relationships: Promote effective working relationships among personnel, departments, and the organization to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all pharmacy operations meet licensing standards set by local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in the collection and evaluation of continuous quality improvement data in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate the provision of training for pharmacists and technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate pharmacy procedures with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Accurate Record-Keeping: Ensure accurate records of all prescription medication received and dispensed are maintained.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of the prescription area and its contents are maintained at all times, and report any thefts or diversions of controlled substances to the relevant authorities.
  • Quality Control: Ensure no mis-branded, deteriorated, adulterated, improperly stored, or outdated drugs are dispensed or present in the active stock.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding medication dispensing, company policies, and procedures.
  • Operational Excellence: Execute common store processes and help the pharmacy operations achieve their planned business objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work processes are performed efficiently and effectively at each work station by performing quality assurance steps.

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail and/or specialty pharmacy environment.
  • Proficiency in Micro-Merchant system.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Composure.
  • Patience.
  • A great attitude.
