About the Opportunity:

A nocturnist position is available at a 146-bed hospital and health system located in Clinton, NC. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and offers a range of medical services, including acute and skilled level care, outpatient surgery, emergency and critical care, and women's and children's services.

Responsibilities:

  • Round on adult and pediatric patients, providing a great mix for individuals who want the excitement of a hospitalist position but still see patients from all ages.
  • Attend emergent caesarian sections and round in the newborn nursery, requiring NRP certification.
  • Admit patients from the ER, as well as directly from primary care offices.
  • Run codes and round in the ICU.
  • Care for skilled care and swing bed patients.
  • Work independently, with specialty doctors available by phone for on-call requirements.
  • Procedures are optional, but comfort with ventilator is required.
  • MediTech EMR is used.
  • Nocturnists can expect to have 5 patient encounters per night and 3-4 emergency department admissions.

Specialties include general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, and urology. The hospital also provides valuable outpatient services, such as physical therapy and diagnostic imaging in state-of-the-art centers, advanced wound care with hyperbarics, home health, and a premier Health + Wellness Center.
